The Kind Season Gratitude List: A Paper Chain for Little Hands

This season, let's notice the good things together.

Not in a big, serious way. In a little-hands way.

One little link at a time, your child builds a chain of everything they love and feel thankful for. Hang it up and watch it grow!

Every little link is a little thank you.

How To Make Your Chain 🔗

1. Print and cut out the strips on pages 2 and 3.
2. Ask a gentle question: "What made you happy today?" Write their words for them, or let them scribble, draw or stick on a photo.
3. Colour and decorate the strip together. Stickers, crayons, glitter, anything goes!
4. Make the first link. Curl the strip into a loop and tape or staple the ends.
5. Link it up. Thread the next strip through the last loop, close it, and keep going.
6. Grow your gratitude. Add a link each day and watch your chain get longer and longer.

By Age 👶

• Babies: hold up a photo and say "Thank you for Grandma!"
• Toddlers: they point, scribble or stick. You write their words.
• 3 to 5s: they draw, trace their name and choose the colours.

Little Ways To Grow Gratitude 🌱

Gratitude isn't something we teach with a worksheet.

It's something children catch.

They catch it from you.

• Say please and thank you out loud, to your little one too.
• Share what you are thankful for at dinner or bedtime.
• On hard days, name the feeling first. Then look for one small good thing together.

That last one matters. We don't skip the big feelings to get to the grateful bit. We sit with the feeling, and then we look for the light, together.
